Located in the heartlands of Hougang, the guys started to transform a room in an apartment into a private dining room for their restaurant. After much hard work and lots of late nights, Black and White Dining was opened on the 14th of February, Valentine’s Day.
Since then, the restaurant has undergone many changes as the guys find the identity they want their restaurant to have. Finishing their studies in shatec and working in the food and beverage industry in various areas to learn what makes it all tick, soon made them realized that fine food and excellent service is all fine and good, but something was still missing, something that will make a dining experience, magical.
Two years on, they believe they have found this magical ingredient, and it is Passion, they always had it, even if they didn’t realize it. It was passion that they decided to start a restaurant and chase their dreams, it was passion they drove them to work for many food and beverage establishments, from fine dining to cafes, and it is passion that brings them great joy in giving you a dining experience like no other.

Overall, the ambience and professional and courteous service that Black & White offered was superb. The black and white theme was chic and apt, while the ambience that was carefully created to elevate the dining experience was also extremely enjoyable. The food was reasonable but the desserts deserve special mention, as they were definitely pleasurable.

On the whole, the dinning experience was very enjoyable with reasonable prices, cozy and chic ambience coupled with good food and service. Honestly, my expectations were exceeded... Truly an unforgettable experience. I would recommend the restaurant to people with no hesitation, and I believe that this restaurant can give people a new dinning experience at affordable prices and yet give the big restaurants a run for their money.
I came across this new private dinning concept a month ago and was thrilled to be employed as a waitress for I was longing to work in this special environment where I am dedicated to serve only a small group of guests... I was fortunate to be serving a group of delightful guests. They involved me into their conversations at times and were very polite to me. The ambience of the restaurant had also provided me with a comfortable serving environment. The music was very soothing and that I would not feel tired or bored easily even after standing still for three hours.
Black & White always keeps me antcipated for good food. Everytime the chef thinks up something new, I know for sure it wiill never disappoint. At such an affordable price for the utmost personalised service and privacy, it's definitely one of the few restaurants that has left me with a lasting impression that keeps me coming back for more. Way to go B&W!
